mail!
i was sitting with sarah on the bunk bed, trying to help her with math, when i hear a voice in the kitchen. i said 'who's there? it sounds like kris.... why is she here? she's got judo tonight.' but it was her. and guess what she had in her hand? a box. wrapped in duct tape. with her addy, but both our names! it was most exciting. i thank you, oh people from saskatchewan, for making math so much more interesting! i am forever in your debt. i think there's only one left. and i'm gonna eat it. after i've digested the excelent lunch i had at kris' house. i might give rach a bite though.

oh the excitment!

rach is home. so sarah and i went up to their house, and jen and sarah were gonna go pick stinging nettle for tea. (they say it'll give me energy cuz it has lots of iron) and i convinced rach to go with them. but sarah and jen decided it would be rotic (romantic without the man) to go in long princess dresses. so they did. and we picked much nettle, and got stung only some. then i spent 5 minutes trying to persuade them to strip to their underwear with me and swim in the channel. so i managed to get sarah to, but it really wasn't deep enough to swim. jen sort of came in, and rach waded. sarah managed to get up to her knees in mud, jen sat in goose poo, and i had the distinction of being the first one in. how's that for an afternoon? oh and for supper we had pork roast and ceaser salad and the salad had lots and lots of garlic and i kept eating and eating and eting it cuz it was so good.

That freak...

What was Jack Layton thinking? Wearing a blue tie on T.V. the other day? You'd think it would be orange, or green even, for a greeny like him...

ick

This library mouse is screwy. And it's even a lazar one.
On another note, has anyone else realized that out of the four of us I'm the most interesting?

we saw a documentary on the news last night about a funny mormon sect out your way... what do you know about them? do they come out in public much? apparently there was a meeting recently where the women got up and talked about how much they liked polygamy (excuse me while i puke).

excuse me well I drool

This morning, I, me, made a very scrumptious corn chip dip. Layered refried beans, salsa, cheese, tomatoes, jalepinos, sour cream and junk. Listen guys...It was a hit at my Mom's birthday party! So I can make stuff that requires more then opening a can. This required opening several cans and smearing it about in a pan.
It's resulting in my getting salsa on the keyboard. I will have to give up eating it until I'm done typing.
But, gotta love Mexican food. Even the fakeish taco bell type stuff is good.
But the real stuff, you haven't lived until you've eaten some of it. Stuff chopped and fried by the street vendors. So fried that they're almost guaranteed to give you a stomach ache. Or some of their desserts! Flan, for one. Or their candy (the stuff that isn't dipped in chili). And flour tortillas soft and fresh from the Ley. I've been down there twice and I doubt I've even discovered half the good stuff. Like, horchata, for instance.
However, my favourites to date...empenadas! I don't know what the heck us health conscious northerners are letting them keep them to themselves for. They're only ninety percent oil. I strongly suspect it's because we could never master the technique of making them. I know my family has never technically succeeded.
So, get on the next bus to Eastern Mexico, and get yourself the first fresh empenada you come across. I almost guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I have the answer

You know, I could just send ess gum too. I figure it would save a lot of problems. I mean, heck, the things cost what? Eighty cents? But that would be mildly un-unique. Only mildly. Since Cor thought of it first. But, man. Even Meg and I fight over better things then that.

I saved the kitchen!

From another piece of junk called a "handy gadget". I talked mom out of going to T&C to look at some mill thing.

Will you share your Dubble Bubble out of gratitude now elly, oh hater-of-junk?

And so you know, the proper way to do a link is link text

Kris changed my address

O.k. My blog can now officially be found at http://plaidpiano.blogspot.com And it is spelled right since kris did it. She said that my last url was far to weird and spelled wrong. And she was right. She always is. So until later, my dear friends, I leave you.

[massive bubble]

Have any of you ever had somebody make your day by mailing you a package of bubbalicious?
I have.
You open your mail box. Flyer *yawn* flyer *yawn* bill *sigh*
You think, oh well. Nothing again. But you look down to look one last time. And then, is it, really? a package of bubbalicious with a stamp and your scrawled address attatched. No kidding!
I almost didn't want to eat it. Almost.

farmer poll

sarah and i think we should make a poll and send it to all the cherry farmers to fill out. these are some of our questions.

who thinks pete's (my dads) trees have to much fruit on them?
who think darrel (the agicultural guy who gives advice) should buy us all cofee and donuts at the next tour?
how many of you are gonna die falling out of cherry trees while pruning?
how many of you will admit you were wrong if pete's pruning job is good if he gets a bumper crop?
how many of you feel sorry for S cuz he hired the funny looking dude to prune his trees and the trees look confused?
how much more work do you spend making your trees grow than making your kids grow?

any suggestions?

i would say good morning, but it's monday. if you say monday is too good, you're tempting fate. it's like "come and get me!"

that didn't make any sense, i know, but that's alright. it's 9:38 in the morning, and i'm at work. what else can you expect?

oh, and i just went back and read essy's post about makeup. i didn't remember it. she hasn't changed a bit, either. heheheheh.

cherry trees and farmers

farmers are a funny bunch. went on a tour of differant people's pruning jobs this morning, and so sarah and i made fun of everyone's pruning and they all laughed at my dad cuz he's greedy and left lots of fruit on his trees even though it might cause him problems later. there's this new fungicide(sp) in the states that the dudes from washington state (they just put in a 100 bloody acres of trees) said was great for canker on the trees, but i don't think it's registered in canada, so everyone was trying to figure out if they smuggles it across, if the officials could tell in their fruit that they'd been using smuggles chemicals. that was my morning, i'm sure you all wanted to know badly. lol.

Here's a thought....

Courtesy of my brother.

Why does the VCR remote have brail on the buttons? If you're blind, you can't watch T.V.

What the...

O.k. I have almost unlimited access to satellite t.v. over the past couple days. Nothing to good about that. I spend my days infesting my brain with trash. However, there are ads for something saying they'll discuss the implications of making all us Canucks have passports if we want to go into the States.
Somebody tell me, please (ell), is this a sure thing? How long 'till it goes into effect? Or is it all ready?
And do you have any idea how much it costs to get one of them things!
You know what I miss? The days when people could be on first name (heck, nickname) terms with the border guards. When going down for the week was welcomed with, "well, have a good trip". And going down to pick up aunt Edna from the airport (1/2 hour south of the line) didn't result in the car getting ripped apart in search of nukes.
I'm not saying they should just let terrorists saunter in. And our less then stiff borders probably had this coming. Not to mention the ease in which our citizens can grow a decent crop of marijuana.
But, still. it sucks.
You know, I could just watch the documentary, but this is easier.
*sigh*. Whatever, I don't go down there very often anyway. But now if I even want to think about it then there's a hefty fee involved (presuming this is really gonna happen).
Good-bye. To, it. Whatever "it" is.

Yeah!

Invite eagerly accepted.
Isn't it great how some minds think alike? Last (or the one before) night I lay in bed thinking about how it would be great to have a joint blog with somebody. However, I am generally unmotivated, low on computer time, and out of ideas of who would want to.
This is also just a testin' post. I won't bore you with details about my black eye, recently seen movies, or any other dull details of my life.
Oh yeah, the name is more then decent.
Ha ha! This is great.

Greetings

The first post. Just to test everything. Are you fond of the layout or is it the burnt yams thing again? And the name? Or if you have a better idea, speak! I don't mind...

I'm taking a break for the day now though. I'll get the archives working later.
